The high-density, ghetto nature of North Dunedin is exactly what gives the city its charm as a University town. No need for cars, you know 100 people within a block, never far to walk home etc...
OK, most of the houses face south, but blame the Scotland based town planners in the 1840s for that one.
I was there some time ago, and the only time I ever came across the Police was the many times I lied to them about my age in the pubs.
We were too tight to do anything to our furniture.

Seriously, I wonder if part of the problem is that there’s no Vietnam, , French nukes, Springbok tour, or even a cut back in funding to get some meaningful rebellious thing out of the system.
So boredom fills the void, and you get this stupidity.
I mean; 2nd year Accounting students, complete with cell phones, throwing bricks at policemen because... not sure really.

The lineout issue is not a Hore issue. In years past it was possibly an Anton issue becaue his inaccurate throws were lateral.
Now, the issue is one of timing and combinations.
And, once again, guess where the finger points there?
I'm starting to think the Bay of Plenty model looks pretty attractive.

Well said Keir; I'd bitten my tongue hard on that.
The European Cup, now the Champions League, loosely equates to the Super 12 / 14/ 15.
Except for the Franchise aspect.

Argentina securing the participation of their best players to play in the Four Nations.
Does that rule apply to the other countries too?
2007 and all that.... -
He’s something else all right.
But I’m wondering if he thinks that’s the way to behave, and might accidentally be onto something. The winding up the opposition, the refs, the media, Hamilton, the IRB etc... No doubt McCaw will get it at some stage.
All good theatre.
And it takes the spotlight off his players. Jose Mourinho used to do exactly that at Chelsea (That’s football Hadyn)

Let me ask this though. Would anyone swap Henry for de Viliers right now?
No; clearly PDV is best used as a stand-up comic.
But if you asked “Would anyone swap the NZ coaching team for the South African coaching team right now?” I’d say you bet.

If we do something we might win the World Cup.

It's a gamble, sure.
But there are still 2 years to go, and the talent is there. And he would have personal motivation (always the biggest issue when appointing a coach from off-shore)
And most of all, it is worth a try.
If we do nothing we will not win the World Cup.

HG; White took over the Boks when they were at a low ebb, and with team divisions etc.
He appointed his captain (best in the world) and built from there. He also brought back Percy because he realised the importance of goal-kicking. What I’m saying is he made the tough decisions (that’s why his contract was terminated) but they were the correct ones.
This current side is pretty much developed from what he built.
