Hard News: Media3: Panic or Peril?, in reply to
It definitely seems like a case of being caught somewhere between a rock and a hard place Jackie. Here in China, sex doesn’t officially exist, ever, except on the net. As such, kids are a lot more low key. Unfortunately sex will seldom be discussed within families either, but a key difference is the MSM certainly aren’t giving overtly sexualised media top billing. That’s not such a bad thing IMHO. There’s a time and a place. Where these roads lead is anybody’s guess.

I agree Jackie, the banal sensationalised sexualisation and a major thrust of the western media/ cultural sex obsession, is insidiously designed to appeal to the mental faculties of the preteen and those possessed as such.
ETA, that example works perfectly Ben ;)

As someone who has been earnestly working on preparations for WMD* in cohort with New Zealand based individuals, it's patently clear that the jig is now up and that we must double our efforts to elude Government surveillance. Thanks for the heads up Mr Key, that's right honourable. My guess is all the WMDers will be following suit. *World Maths Day.

The fruit and produce never seems to scan properly at my local supermarket, your teenage daughter invariably ends up having to input the code manually, waste of stickers if you ask me.

I’m happy to pay more tax. But only if it goes to Giovanni’s children. And Emma’s.
That should be pretty easy to arrange.

it’s probably down to one of those irritating little technical issues that occasionally renders every NZ website unavailable for a few hours. Not much to be done about that, although I suspect if Kim Dotcom gets that 2nd cable built things might improve.
It could also be your server, and the more heavily restricted sphere of influence. I was banned from teaching global classes when the ping tests showed I was averaging 550ms (+ dropped packets) to our US server from Beijing (China Unicom), to the south of that bubble I’m on China Telecom and the average is 242ms.
Tangentially I recently had an Italian student (on learning of my nationality) complaining in class about the New Zealand Government arresting Kim Dot Com and his losing out on his lifetime membership to Mega whatever-it-was, I didn’t have time to set him straight as to who tows our nation’s rope, which I guess is loosely on topic…

All of which I would’ve deleted.
Not unreasonably.
…for the Thought Police.
Not sure about anyone else, but when I read that book I most identified with the protagonist.
