Field Theory: Four Years Ago, in reply to
Sacha, that's a specific payment from rates (priviously included) for the delivery of the product, water.
The big issue is the charge for the product itself, something the Greens are promoting, admitedly to another market. This then becomes proof of concept and is launched on the Domestic consumer of that same product. -
Veolia aren't here for Aucklands Transport, and the less resposibility they have for that the happier they are.
They want your Water!
In a truely perverse twist, it will be the Greens that give it to them.
The Greens are putting a price on water, with a view to Dairy.
Once this is accepted you'll pay for the delivery and product plus 8-20%.

Had a bike around the cordon. First time I've seen the PGC building site since the rush and dust of the initial aftermath. Thought of a few I knew and their energy forgetting things done.
The Daffs are out and most people shared a smile, and the random stranger chats.
I wonder what is to come. The sites are level due to "safety" & archeology (dem bones dem bone dem dry bones) and so many buildings that look OK are now "Uneconomical" to repair. I suspect it's the land.
The ECan bunker was all but a nuclear shelter. Must be the land beneath. -
Duncan Garner just raised the Yellow Peril flag on the Nation, talking of Chinas investment in PNG as Chinas Tentacles.

I hope this is a positive move after Jerry Mateparae. One man with just too much power. I know nothing about him, other than he has held every position of power. He would need to be pretty incredible not to be influenced by that.
The alt view is that he's protecting his back and locked the skeletons away from any old Military rivals by shaping the selection process. -

I've been a bit hard on the RNZAF. I share in the Pacific War amnesia, totally forgot their role in it.
I've always thought of them as Troop Transport by Air. Fun, useful and only dangerous to those onboard. -
Glad it was a good party up your way and not too many hurt.
The tremenous failure of transport and public space might just prove to be a blessing for Aucklands future. -

my father had a long and successful career in the RAF without ever firing a shot in anger
Which is why we got rid of the Skyhawkes. Even in Vietnam they weren't used.
