What James said
And this means I am going to have to seriously check out an e book reader thingy -
While we are all enjoying dancing on the supposed Murdock grave I just wonder if the political fall out might just go the other way
Thinking of the rather delicate legal privilage that journalists currently enjoy to not give up their informants, might this be a good time for the pollies to knock that on the head with regulations which could lead to no one being able to put any light on the murky shadows -
Does anybody have a figure for the number of civil unions that have ended in divorce, I seem to remember that it is quite high
I do know that there were 273 civil unions (73% same sex) last year compared with 2100 marriages
Personally I don't see why there is such a drive for marriage but can't see why anybody who want to marry (in the eyes of the law) can't go ahead and do it -
Good stuff Keith
I see David Farrar has commented on your points over "there" I will not re-publish his points but would be interested in your response, if anyWhile I can see the justice of taxing capital gains I am not so sure about governments taxing inflation that they have helped create

If this is not an envy tax but a way to allow/encourage citizens to make better financial decisions, why are gambling gains tax free
Just crazy and why an exemption for small business but not agriculture, again "let's stick it to people who don't vote for us"
And now never will -
Thanks for the explanations, bugger it I am just going to have to get Sky for that and the countryside

Ok, non sporting question from a non sporting, non sky person
But what is the deal with the two girls who stand iether side of the stage winner each night
Different girls each night?, Different outfits (often yellow, I get that, sort of) and where do the girls come from, who picks them?
People need to know -

Whereas I don't really feel represented in NZ at all as I am centrist on economic issues while highly liberal on social matters. And I feel that no party in NZ really represents my views.
Likewise, hopefully with a lower threshold there could a splitting of the parties into units we could vote for but then they would have to gather into coalitions to govern so would we be better off
I like to think so -

"Berlusconification"
Word of the year?

It seems obvious that a low threshold would lead to more parties, possibly single issue parties but is that a bad thing for democracy
I can see how it could be bad for stability but surely dis-enfranchising citizens is worse?
