  • Hard News: Flu diversions,

heh - Tomorrow People - greta show (I'd have to say that).

Was pretty out there BITD - especially the B&W early stuff.

Pretty forward thinking though for the time.
Has that very obvious dreary English shot-in-a-studio look but tehy did do outside shot - mainly involving fields and a transit van - lol.

You can get the series on DVD.

Kind of 2001 (HAL) meets the United Nations and Doctor Who....

And the theme tune is cool.

  • Hard News: The smart thing to do,

Yeah, well I think the National Party are off the honeymoon now.
Anyone hear Bill English on Morning Report regarding stimulus in the economy not being enough?

I think he's realised it's going to be VERY tough for the Govt. of the day to keep things form going down the economic toilet.
The reality also being it's the government of the day that is going to be in the spotlight and a lot of people seemingly voted for some kind of bright future/change saviours in the Nats....

And the whole ACT thing - Key's probably aware of how much 'old smelly shit mashed into the shagpile ' the ACT problem is.... and kicking himself.

  • Hard News: Speaking Freely,

    Freeview rocks.

Got a satellite tuner in January this year when the old telly blew up (literally).
Was sick of fuzzy pictures and was in now way about to fork out money to Sky just so I could watch something on TV2 clearly.

TV6 and 7 are great - we watch these most of the time now.
TVNZ News at 8 is great as is Russell's show etc.

I must say Sonia Voigt on TVNZ News at 8 in the weekends is worth the cash of the Freeview box alone :)

So we can't get Prime... well stuff them - if they want to go with Sky so we plebs can't watch them on Freeview so be it.
Shame really - they have good programmes but have decided to hook up with the whoremongers of pay TV they can sod off.

    Likewise Alt TV, Traingle etc.
I find it ironic that the 'little indie' TV channels can only be accessed via some kind of Sky device - which means you have to pay for it.
Kind of cuts out their potential audience if you ask me.
Now they have to compete with 500 other channels on the Sky network when they could be available free to everyone.

I mean MTV anybody - who the hell actaully watches it?
Every time I see the Sunday Star Times celeb pages and they have an 'MTV VJ' photographed it's like "who???!!!".
    No one watches that stuff.
Make it freeview and maybe they will.

I've always disliked Sky and pay TV in general.
Yeah, I'm one of those people who resents having to pay to watch TV.

Just watch Sky TV shares tank in the next year when people start canceling their subscriptions - pay TV is a luxury.

  • Hard News: Pomp and Circumstance,

Um, anybody see the irony in Hide driving an 'environmentally friendly' SMART car around?
Surely that would signal some kind of acknowledgment of 'green awareness'?

Or, maybe it's just a question of size.
You know what they say = big car, small pee pee.
Little car = big wanger - and we all know Rodney has a super gigantic one right?

  • Hard News: Pomp and Circumstance,

For once I agree with Craig - I would also question why the guy was let on if he was drunk.
I mean, how drunk is 'too drunk'?

  • Hard News: Pomp and Circumstance,

This whole ACT act is a disaster.....

While I am walking around the Epsom electorate these days I feel the need to randomly kick passers-by in the balls.
It's quite likely I will be booting-in the gonads of someone who voted for Hide.

Sheesh - what a side-show and we are only at Day One.

  • Hard News: Congratulations, Mr Key,

Gareth - this had been discussed on National Radio on Sunday.
Possibly some referendum in the future maybe.
    It does seem 'quaint'.

Even if you get less party votes, you only need one member to win an electorate to get one in parliament...

    this is someone's forum ID?

    lol

So they are talking about tits on an owl I take it?

Probably just as effective as the opinions on the site....

    More Ansell notes re billboards...

    Now Heather Roy.
Oh crap - Wellington Central - that's hard....

    Wellington - wind....

    Got it!
    'Vote Roy's Windy ACT'

Gotta call Rodney about this gem....

"Rodney, yeah it's John here. Listen, I have this great catch phrase for Heather's billboard in Cuba Street".
"What? Eh?.... What do you mean you want to copy the Green's ideas? Yeah? Well screw you too!"

    *hangs up*
