I knew the artist received a pathetic amount on royalties, but 4.5c for a $1.00 download is downright criminal.

If it's $30 an album I sure as heck won't be buying any... ok maybe once so I can see how it works. the $16.99 figure that they have at the Australian isn't too bad, if we were to get that same figure here.
I can usually go down to Sounds/CDstore/RealGroovy and find dozens of CDs (that I want) in the <$20 bracket, so I think that they can't go too much higher than $15.
Speed/convenience is definitely not enough to make me buy it through iTunes instead of taking a walk down to the mall (or ordering from Smoke/RealGroovy) and getting myself a nice CD with the higher quality sound and the sense of physically owning something. Along with the liner notes and other goodies.
What would be really nice was if you got a discount coupon for picking up the real CD to go with the digital download.

Quite interesting that today is the 28th (in the US) which is the first date that you mentioned. A large number of the stores are offering sales on 1st Dec, it sure would be nice if we got to be a part of that.
If not we must wait for next Thursday that Russell also you mentioned was the new date.

There are some more changes today. Apple.co.nz was last modified at 0415 this morning, still has the Clear DNS servers as primary and secondary.
http://www.apple.com/nz now redirects to http://www.apple.co.nz it used to provide a 404 error.
nserver.apple.com now has DNS information for apple.co.nz listed. This wasn't the case previously. The IP listed is the same as that for apple.com.au and it is also using the Apple Australia mail server.
Make from that what you want.

This is a great video. I really hope they don't open it up for traffic, or change Cashel Mall much at all. It's fantastic as it is.

I also see that there was a company registered on the 20-Mar-2006 called Apple Sales New Zealand. Of which the single shareholder is Apple Australia. The directors are two Australians and the Apple CFO.

Maybe we're getting a proper Apple presence as well. Apple.co.nz dns info was changed today. It is now registered to Apple Australia as well, the same people that bought itunes.co.nz

The NZ Herald link that someone else posted earlier also mentioned that U2 were in town and might have something to do with an iTunes launch.
How will it work though?
An actual iTunes NZ store.
Opening up of the Australian store to accept our credit cards again.
A proper Apple presence in NZ.Or will it all just be nothing like all the other times the rumour has come around.

John, I think you'll find that is actually because of Renaissance's own rules regarding promotions on Apple products.
