Well its a learning curve for everyone. Talking to a friend who runs an environmental planting care group that is very successful..its a lot of work to get public involvement and buyin. Really that's what you're doing here, regardless of personal opinion .. I was a student of the late 60s in Christchurch when marijuana (and LSD) first appeared there socially (so far as I know)...whereas amphetamine was always regarded as a drug of the 50s! Nobody drank wine ..beer was a luxury for parties and keg beer pretty crap really ..if anyone remembers so far back in time.

Thanks Russell. For those of us who are interested these threads have been useful and civilised. I was living in the UK 2006 when volunteers died in these "human drug trials" .. so would not favour them for industry compliance. Students etc do it as a source of income..some go from one trial to the next .. spooky existence?

Google "Human Drug Trials" on the Guardian site. Interesting. Don't be rude, Shulgin. Respect to the elderly, not ranting....

British test method these days is to pay volunteers (probably do here these days too) to stay in "controlled" medical environment and take drugs and have physiological measures sampled ..blood, BP, liver function etc ..some get very sick but that`s what they`re paid for and have signed a waiver contract for. Only way that I can see a proper test being done with a standardised set of measures. Free board and food for participants and make some money. Better than animal studies and 'subjects" get to try the product. And they are all said to be 'harmless' after all..soon find out. If patients in psychiatric wards are currently free to leave hospital and supplement their "treatment" with Legal Highs, and enthusiasts of this law are sure it is moral panic driving the protest, the test awaits!

Who'd have thought a National government would close down a whole lot of small businesses legally established through its very own clever world beating legislation?
-
May I be wrong, but see big chemical test and business compensation costs looming. Pity Govt didn't ensure chemical tests first to establish product safety and compare with British data which seems well established (Ramsey discussion earlier). Heard the Startrust manager (?) in Europe this morning talking to Morning Report. Not sounding happy with this turn of events.

Yes Stephen! Aware of that. But also used as a pain medication (as morphine is) as recent home death in Whanganui showed ..with patient given this in hospital by "pain specialist" on top of an assortment of different atypical antipsychotics and off label recent epilepsy drugs now being experiented with for head injuries, pain etc. Coroner found it "okay" but polypharmacy is rife and untoward effects largely not documented, This was in the MSM not long ago.
