Those questions on the US immigration application? Draft as a coot! I always wonder if anyone ever answers ‘yes’ to any of them
I'm not sure what the original intention for them was, but I think the primary use is to detect people who were not paying attention when they filled in the rest of the form.

This comment below the Herald review is hilariously wrong I just had to share;
“Elle is pretty awesome but she is and always will be a fringe singer with a boutique audience. Nothing wrong with being successful in alternative music, it’s just you have to realize that is what she is and whats she is good at.”
I know, sharing dumb comments is dumb but this one made me smile. I’d rather like ‘boutique audience’ of this size.
I noticed that one too. I loved how he got her name wrong.

I can’t get to iheartradio.co.nz in Chrome or Firefox. It bounces straight to iheart.com.
Same here. But clicking on the Lorde photos link takes me to http://www.iheartradio.net.nz/photos/lorde-live-concert-photos/. So it looks intentional to me.

Hard News: The Real Threat, in reply to
I agree with Martin ’s observation that https isn’t s, not so much because of the other end of the cloud, but because the security of the system depends on the independence of the root certificate authorities.
But the other end of the connection is critical. Encrypting communication is irrelevant if the government (assuming that's who you're trying to keep your communication private from) can force the other party to reveal what you've communicated, or worse if they have a system like Prism that provides a backdoor into the data held by the other party. Using https for gmail is literally worse than useless if the NSA are harvesting data directly from Google's servers - functionally it's useless but it's actually worse than useless because it gives the illusion of security, possibly tricking you into trusting a communication channel that is not secure.

Hard News: Who else forgot to get married?, in reply to
I have my mother’s birth surname appended to my usual surname on my New Zealand passport. But on my US passport I just have the usual surname. So I have two passports from different countries with slightly different names. I am still working out some way to use this to my advantage.
I can't think of an advantage. But it can be a disadvantage. When my wife travels to the US she can use her US passport for US immigration and her NZ passport for NZ immigration. It's quick at both ends. I don't think you could do that if the name in one of your passports did not match the name on your ticket.

I don’t have a working TV antenna at home (we only have a Sky dish and no Sky decoder).
In case you're not aware, you can receive FreeView via satellite using your Sky dish. You only need a decoder.

If you were to buy episodes on iTunes, for example, you’d pay something like $3.50 an episode. For that one series alone you’re looking at $14/mth – it doesn’t take many shows to start adding up.
Right. Basic Sky (which doesn't include Game of Thrones) is $47 per month, or about 3 episodes @ $3.50 per week. SoHo add $10 per month so that's 1 more episode per week. OTOH never seeing any advertising at all makes the experience much nicer.

Hard News: Not good enough, Eden Park, in reply to
My interpretation:
...But then she said – informatively – they couldn’t see harassment unless “everybody else around” was offended by it.She never said anything that can reasonably be interpreted that way. She said that "unless everyone else around Ms Spyksma was offended by the men’s slurs, they would likely not have been kicked out." (quoting the Herald's reporting not the Eden Park spokeswomen). The only interpretation I can imagine for that statement is that regardless of whether the incident was seen by security or not, they would not take action unless other bystanders were also offended.
