my husband has a theory that Ian Curtis sounds like Jim Morrison but no one will admit the influence because, y'know, it's Jim Morrison. Heh.
He sounded hell of a like Jim Morrison.
I'm pretty sure that the main similarity is that they both sing in the natural baritone register, which hardly any rock singer does. Nick Cave and Johnny Cash being the other ones I can think of.
