Up Front: It's Complicated, in reply to
We could be a species that educates children about sex as our only control of it, letting them make some of the mistakes
Not to overcomplicate, but the thing about swimming is you don’t see too many women emerging from the waves having been impregnated by the ocean. With sex, there are health risks and a power of good but there’s also responsibility for bringing life into this world, and the consent laws seem largely designed to work within the framework of the minimum age of 16 for living with a partner, getting married, leaving school, starting full time work. It's arbitrary but it's about right for now. In a society where the average age of child bearing is somewhere around 30 years of age, I'd argue that 16 year olds are still children albeit with a modicum of responsibility.

That is very much appreciated, you’ve laid those nagging questions to rest. ‘Pulitzer’ was most certainly not intended as a slight. This work is great and I’m especially loving these Trivia sections. My uncertainty is simply scope vs time; it seems there’s still a fair way to go before it transcends that familiar narrative of who’s who and what mattered, but with you holding the tiller, I know it’s in safe hands. And of course welcoming contributions is wicked. Thanks again for your reply Simon.

Which makes me wonder, band bios aren't exactly Pulitzer territory. So why not hasten the process and simply solicit and edit submissions from the general public or would that be taking money out of someone's pocket?

Great design and info, I'm looking forward to the site hitting its straps, this opening feels a bit premature as is. Some suggestions: Goldenhorse, The Datsuns, James Milne, The Mint Chicks. and for anyone in need of a Nielson fix right this minute Devils should satisfy:

"a power of good."
Has a nice ring to it. Most nicknames for Herpes sound downright depressing.

Is it a better world? Or just one with new problems?
I'm not convinced that the world is better or that our current versions have wrought new problems. Voyeurism, narcissism, materialism and advertising have been upgraded, and the issues or gizmos du jour stand on the shoulders of antecedents.

OnPoint: What Andrew Geddis Said, But…, in reply to
They’re no longer even trying to feign a semblance of impartiality.
Perhaps it was apathy, perhaps it was the pretty colours and slick presentation, most likely it was willful ignorance, honestly I’ve no idea why I didn’t reach this point sooner, but I’m boycotting Fairfax henceforth.
