but I also quite like the logo. It's certainly a lot livelier than ours.
Could we change the Wellington one to incorporate the Ranfurly Shield in some way....

Given the success of OpShop and Elemeno P at these awards is it now official that you need your songs to be picked up by some dreadful ad to win an award?
How is the award....uh..awarded? Is it on sales, a judging panel, airplay? My guess is a combo of air play and sales, being an APRA award, but I'm prepared to be enlightened.

On an unrelated line, I just saw that Elbow won the Mercury Prize in the UK for their album Seldom Seen Kid. That cheered me up.

Or perhaps Chris Finlayson and John Key actually had prior engagements?
You're right Craig, they could well have. But every National MP?

I don't have a theory really, but it wouldn't surprise me that, given the general left wing nature of such gatherings, the Nats wrote off things like the music, film and TV awards etc as not worth their time.
As someone who works in the arts I do hope that I am wrong and being unduly pessimistic as it would be great to think that the party that is, let's face it, likely to be the next government cares about these industries. I just have my doubts.

It was three years ago at a completely different event. Don't be silly.
So the same people don't attend both?

Where were the Nats? Couldn't they have sent one member along?
Maybe after the disgraceful show of manners after Don Brash's appearance at the NZ Music awards a couple of years ago they've decided they are better off out of it.

I vote purely on hairstyles. If Brian Tamaki ran I would vote for him. Good head of hair, good head of hair.

...Stewart as Winston, in a plot twist to stun us all.
Your money's not here. It's in that trust. And that trust. And that trust.....

I know it has been asked before, but why do we have a Minister of Racing? If we have a minister for that, should we have other ministers for other high-profile industries that have money sloshing around in them? If so I volunteer to be the Minister for Wine.
