I also can't criticise Finlayson for his vote
I don't think voting against the marriage bill makes an MP a homophobe. (I support it. Totally.) There are so many shades of grey in these sorts of debates (bugger that book because I don't mean THAT).

dpf has the votes broken down by age, location, ethnicity, etc. Chch MPs were 11-2 for.
An odd breakdown though. It says one gay MP voted against; I can count at least three.
A pleasing aspect is the way NZ First has shown its regard for its voting base: the last gasp of the dinosaur Rob's mob.

The voting fascinates me as a fine way to id the stuffed shirts and rednecks in Parliament.
Great result. Let those who wish marry; it's simple civil rights.

It was at the Church in the centre of Hanmer the week before last Christmas – maybe the weedeater wielder came a day or two after the mower because the lawns were shorn. I liked the featheriness of the grass.

Re the concrete mix: my partner Greg was working in Haiti six weeks after their big earthquake. He found that many of the collapsed masonry buildings in Port-au-Prince were because the concrete was a 1 to 12 ratio of cement and often specified reinforcing was not used. Corruption in all parts of the building process was the reason.
