A weekend at the top of the West Coast: we went caving with rubber rings, mining at Denniston, and visited the wonderful limestone of the Oparara Basin. Highly recommended.

A designer of my ken, who works in Chelsea, used to see Van the man from time to time, as the Irish troubadour was working in a nearby studio at the time (which was a decade ago or more).
"Grumpy old sod" was his considered opinion.
Nick Cave spent some time in the same place.

Limestone Hills is where the Waipara River runs into the White Gorge. We're on a cliff above the river, which is our boundary. I like to say we look down on the rest of Waipara. It is a very special part of the world.
