Top Town: With the recent death of Paddy this episode has a very nostalgic ring to it. My recollection of Paddy was on Hauraki in the late 60's. Me and a couple of school mates would bus to Auckland during the holidays for a day in the Big Smoke and it always included a visit to the Hauraki recording studio. The show being recorded was always a week late so we had a week of eager anticipation for our request to be played. The man kept turning up on radio over the years with his unmistakable voice.
Sigh......Snoopy Versus the Red baron.... The Return of the Red Baron. I remember "Snoopy" sat at number 1 (on the Hauraki charts!) for Dog knows how long simply because the NZBC had banned it!!

That may be good. But we must be careful that we do not drive these carefully selected people to DO put their hands from under the table.
Rather: What I mean is we have make sure they keep their hands above the table!!!!

A Late Post:
One thing that seems to be forgotten in NZ is that we are relatively - that means practically - graft and corruption free. I have never had to pay someone personally to get my passport, drivers license etc under the counter. That is the way it should be.
There is a cost to ensure this stays the way it is. What we pay Judges, Police and Politicians should address (more than) their needs and for the politicians probably a wee bit more for the hassle of shifting and splitting their families to Wellington for the parliamentary term.
Our judges and Policeare - well, not above the law - but certainly beyond tainting as far as I can ascertain and we pay above average rates to ensure it.
Yes, they have sorted their superannuation in the small hours and in 5 minutes or something ridiculous but they are all able to be chucked out by our vote - or the vote of their party.
TP Field is our first underhander identified, tried and found wanting. Not bad for 100 and mumble years frankly. So we have a conundrum of what to do with his air fares. Well, so what. No doubt it will come up in some form or another in the midnight hours of a parliamentary session and be scrapped for naughty boys and girls.
That may be good. But we must be careful that we do not drive these carefully selected people to DO put their hands from under the table.Your vote is worthy. Use it usefully and deselect them if you don't like them. But going too far may have dire consequences.
I'm happy to pay such a small price to keep the behaviour of the likes of Indonesia well away from these fair shores.
PS. Smacking Bill: Make sure your vote is still counted if you do not want to say YES or NO. Tick both boxes and water down the percentages. Informal votes at least get counted!

It surprises me that the world has allowed the iincredible nanosecond response of capital shifting from and to anywhere in the world to 1) develop and 2) to keep on keeping on. It seems all for the sole pupose of betting on making a fast (ultra!) buck. It is easy to see that if splurges occur in any part of the sytems then "cycles" - chaotic or planned - will occur. Where is the 'value' in this system? Convince me that me or my country is benefiting.
International trade can never be equal. If someone has a trade suprplus it has to be balanced by someone having a deficit. Something else has to happen if everyone wants to see "an increase in wealth"...whatever that means. We have a fractional money system but if the ratio is 30:1, who really "owns" the other $29?
If a manufacturer transfers his labour force to a lower wage economy how does the country that WAS producing the good get the benefit?
Is it those who allow this to happen (Politicians) and those who make money from it (corporates, ticket clippers and hangers on) the elites that Ken is talking about?
I dunno.....maybe Douglas had some good small points in his diatribes on Social Credit. Somethings got to give.

The best Lockjaw (no man can hold a smile THAT long) placard was the one when he was running around a Minister of Education and I am sure they were protesting the student loan scheme.

Here goes...Big breath. I smell a hanging coming on......
To the question would I still inveigh against a “working treatment”?
It has been driving me nuts all night how I should or could answer the question.
Any solution that can demonstrate that it works according to tested principles is OK by me. Tested principles are those that have survived the schools of sharks in the scientific/medical community who will rip the shit out any method that smells…well…fishy. That is the wonderful test of peer review.
A list of anecdotal evidence on a web page does not hit my joy button though.

However, referring to your referenced method in the paper I have to say that anyone registering (as in the circled “R” after the description) a “hands-on-approach” like the “Neil-Asher Technique” twitches my bullshit detector.
http://www.frozenshoulder.com/the_niel_asher_technique.php
I am all for clarity and letting the facts speak for themselves and anyone touting courses for a technique that has been developed by themselves has to be treated with a little wariness. It reeks of snake oil at the moment I am afraid. “Buy my patent medicine – it works”
After I drafted the above I found this link and I hoped they were not the real McCoy. But…..

Click the first comment on Frozen Shoulder and check out a few of the replies. I hoped it was not a real osteopaths learning site but incredibly, a couple of pages into the replies I found Simeon Neil-Asher replying to a few of the questions which makes me even more suspicious that it is real.
HELP! I feel the noose...
