They're great, Sofie. Very creative creations!
… (sort of) on the subject of lights and electricity, here’s some of the new infrastructure required for rail electrification that is starting to appear alongside the Western line … photographed at night of course, to make it look more sci-fi.

“Your Suburban Cinema Showcase” … The Crystal Palace on Mt Eden Rd. Not a lot going on there at the moment, although I have heard the interior and fittings are still very original, with a kauri floor. The cinema was also a music venue at different times over the years … but that’s another story.

Here's how the pop picking was done long before we had The Audience ... the two gents in the photo were working at HMV in Wellington. The year was 1957. That valve amp looks pretty cool ... and they had the New Musical Express for reference.
Thanks National Library.

A distant hum thrum, which just happened to be two metres away
At first, it felt like my ears were blocked. It is eerie.
Nice! I’d pop down on my bike for a daytime recce, but I appear to still be tired from my birthday party
On yer bike! It's awesome out there today.
In the neighbourhood: photo above is of the Ponsonby Post Office.

Lightnin' Rod and Jimi Hendrix - Doriella Du Fontaine. I remember hearing the 'radio edit' years ago but didn't know how the story ended until yesterday, when I found the whole eight minute track on Soundcloud. From the Celluloid records website:
"The project began in late 1969 with famed producer Alan Douglas recording the unmistakable Jimi Hendrix and legendary Buddy Miles in rolling and groove-laden musical backdrop. Fast forward 4 years and Lightnin' Rod (aka Jalaluddin Mansur Nuriddin) adds in his distinctive vocal soundtrack. Rod calls it "spoagraphics" (spoken pictures) but to most listeners hear it as the roots of an early form of rap. Rhythm, spoken-word and the art of the storyteller all wrapped up into one. The two meld together to create something new and unheard in 1973 and something still sounding fresh in 2011"

Some new sculptures on the Symonds St / Wellesley St overbridge - Loafers, by Francis Upritchard. Just near where the Kiwi Tavern once stood, so the name is kind of appropriate.

J and the jnr rule
Yeah but that show at Studio was appalling. He beat the songs to death. I didn't recognise 'Almost Ready' until it was almost over. But I think I said this to you in the lobby on the way out ... ;)

Seagull solar eclipse
Great shot! Hope you weren't looking through the viewfinder though.
It has dream logic
Thanks, that's the unforeseen effect ...

I was on a bus, the building across the road was lit up by afternoon sun and reflected in the bus window. All planned, of course ... ;)
