National won the election by offering NZers everything Labour did, plus a pony. Or something like that.
-
Mr Key and his ponies is another meme that's off at a trot.

They obviously need to be introduced to Nick Smith and Tony Ryall.
Perhaps they also need to be introduced to Phil Goff, and reminded what the presumptive next leader of the Labour Party did when he was Minister of Education. Since you went there...
Craig, anything he did while he had that moustache doesn't count.
But seriously...fair point. I've demonstrated exactly what I was pointing out. As someone who became a teenager/young adult under National, Labour's past sins mattered less than their promise of change.

Herne Bay gentry and Westmere breeders aside...Auckland Central also includes a lot of young, flatting, first or second time voters, who haven't been adults under a National government and so seem more open to the idea that National can actually deliver "a brighter future'.

Or some one who has gone toe for toe with the real bad guys
Okay, I'll fall for it. Who are the real bad guys?
The Klingons. Don't tell me you can't you see a hint of Captain James T. Kirk's roguish charm and cavalier attitude to Federation Law in John Key?

then I'm even happier that the Greens have come out in support of National.
I'm thinking you meant "have ruled out support of National"?

"People always think it's like Lord of the Rings",
Of course they do - it's the fault of that poster in Murray's office on Flight of the Conchords:
New Zealand: Like Lord of the Rings

It might just be me, but I find the Herceptin comment the most distasteful and cynical ploy National has pulled this election.

Indeed. In fact at nearly 5 years old, he's taller than Rodney Hide!

I personally feel that by not watching the ads you're stealing television.
...and the shoes from my 4 year old son's feet!
Ads are like ranting crazies using invisible Bluetooth on the bus. You can't escape them, but you can always gaze into the middle distance and think about something else until they get off.
