...nor the apparatchik Hipkins or the fat Nat guy either. So, here I am on a forlorn double vote for the Greens...
-
"So the outcome of the election depends on how smart and tactical Upper Hutt voters are."
As an Upper Huttian, so despised by all the latte-heads of Wellington, I should be flattered -
But, no, never Ron Mark... -
4/ I'd go with Joanna on this one. Start with the richly marbled steaks of Hide, then a roast Dunne (something could be done with the bouffant to decorate the dish), then a richly wine-marinated hotpot of winstone, followed from some healthy, though rather dull nibbling on the scrawny offerings of Jeanette, John and Helen, to be capped by a monster boil-up of Tariana - with enough left over on the bones to serve for another meal

As a confirmed tea-drinker, I am amazed by the obsession of coffee drinkers - special dinky li'l bean grinders, special baristas, special whatevers
- chez nous, if we get some unfortunate guest who expresses a preference for coffee, out comes the old semi-solid nescafe - in post modern irony sort of way, of course.
Next visit they go with the majority for tea (Yorkshire, Earl Grey, Irish or English breakfast, caravan, gunpowder, green - we offer the lot) ... -
If the unthinkable happens and Tasman actually beat Wellington this weekend, thus winning the Shield, and that they then defend it successfully until next season, when they will be broken into their constituent parts and demoted to Heartland, which chunk of the former Tasman holds the Sheild?
OTOH, will be quite good for the Heartland unions to have the Shield circulating in their ranks without the big boys coming and hogging it... -
Agree. Otago should have been dropped into the second division rather than Tasman, who at least try.

Bocce, while also a member of the bowls group of games, is NOT the same as Petanque
Yours in sorrow more than anger... -
"Gang-rape" is the new "Criticism"?

Will no one think of the pedestrians?
(Having been nearly bowled today at a pedestrian crossing by some lycra'd oaf with a self-righteous jacket reading "one less car on the road")
At least car drivers are better trained that way (and you can take their number) -
Leonidas of Rhodes? Jim Phelps?/
Nope - my money's on Milo of Croton
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo_of_Croton
Has Mr Phelps ever carried a 4-year old cow the length of the stadion, then killed, roasted and eaten it?
