  • City Life - oh the lipstick horror!,

When she was Angela the lawyer on City Life, I might've had a chance... but as some mega famous sci-fi goddess, I fear she may have slipped a little out of this wannabe's league...

Rogan: No I've never watched Mad TV. Guess I'm just obvious. Hmph. Like the time when my friend and I used the word smurfy for months to describe rude situations ("I totally smurfed on her smurf, then smurfed it off with my smurf...") only to see the exact same situation used on Family Guy ("Smurfette? Yeah, she smurfed me..."). Comedic morphic resonance perhaps?

NSFW doesn't seem to apply at TVNZ. We even ran those shots on Midday yesterday... only the directly 'full frontal' shots were blurred, which seemed odd given that the side-on shots were just as explicit. You can surely argue that if its on the news, then its got to be SFW...

Kim: Pics and stories will be forthcoming. There's some goodies!

  • Random Play: Rock Follies,

Although largely considered brave for trying to bridge the un-tapped crossover audience between Chris Knox's lo-fi following in Europe and New York Jews, 'Weird' Al Yankovich's "Moyl" was ultimately deemed inappropriate for commercial radio, and never received any airplay outside of the b-net stations...

Oh, I forgot to mention the email I got from the BDO organisers the day before the BDO. Somewhat relevant now in the light of the whole Aussie flag debate. It said don't wear studded belts, studded collars, blah blah.. and the bit I thought was interesting:

"And think carefully about whether the slogan on your t-shirt might hurt someone’s feelings too. If it says “go cry, emo kid”, that really is quite mean."

Surely they're not that sensitive, are they?

Yeah I didn't see half as many emos as I thought I might, but then again I was largely in R18 areas and/or not down the front for My Chemical Romance...

Llew: Yes, those photos seem all too for the benefit of a photographer: You think they called the press themselves?

I should really let my fingers do the walking before opening my mouth... turns out she went on to do quite a lot including SG-1:

Enough about why City Life got the axe... whatever happened to the hot actress... mmm... I had such a crush... her name escapes me... I think she was a lawyer? Angela? Possibly an Australian.

She came into the cafe I was working at in Devonport once for lunch. She gave me her phone number. Admittedly it was on the back of a cheque...

  • Hard News: The Big Roundup,

    >Joanna, just ask Camilla formerly of bfm, c4,etc how nice muse are.

I'm not sure what Camilla's experience was, but I interviewed them a couple of years back on bFM, didn't have a clue who they were but had heard they were big with the kids etc.

...And they were lovely. Perhaps a bit too eager with the whole "we're a funny bunch of lads" kinda schtick, sort of like the Beatles or the Who back in the day, but that's never a bad thing in a radio interview, certainly better than being a bunch of stuck-up wankers who really don't want to talk to you.

Never quite understood their music though.

Are they still called a 'Paramour' if they're sending you photos of their genitals? Really?

Similar happened to a friend of mine, sending photos of herself in various erotic poses to her boyfriend via her parents computer, forgot to delete them properly and there they were in the "most recent documents" folder. Father was less than impressed.

    There's a lesson here kids...
