I love love my winter coat too, and it's a cross between Scarlett and Raspberry.
Like JoJo I got it second-hand (in fact I've only had one winter coat, bought new. From Glassons when I was 17 with the big pleat running over each shoulder - very popular style at the time. In England I just went to Charity Shops, and I picked up my current coat here - I think in a recycled clothing shop
I don't think I paid more than $10
I've tried to guess the era (I think pre Fair Trading Act labelling regulations in 1987/91) The coat has two labels - One says "Wool and Angora, Made in England" and another smaller, less smart one says "Made in New Zealand under licence by Austin Brown" It could be anything from 50s onwards to my untrained eye, missing the mega shoulder pad era (of the aforementioned Glassons coat)
Anyone know anything about Austin Brown? There have been a few coats on Trade Me with the label, all vintage/retro.
The buttons are plastic, slightly squared, floral/geometric blend - I love them most of all, but sadly have lost a couple, which are proving difficult to replace (RIP Ballentynes Haberdashery!)

..by reading a *gasp* book or newspaper or having a proper, leisurely meal.
For me the space through security, when checking onto an international flight, is one of the last peaceful sanctuaries. There's nothing left to do - you have to wait. It's allowed! It's like a bonus , a proper break, the kind we used to get when morning tea, lunch, and smoko in the days when such things were universally observed.
Admittedly, I do tend to take my laptop with me. But still, I love the chance to relax that flying brings.

I had a few hours wait at Auckland Airport a couple of months back- Domestic and International. No free wifi that worked as I recall, although a few of the shops gave off a signal.
The paid wifi service was also pretty slow, and signal strength came and went (possibly due to numbers using it)
Christchurch airport has 15 minutes free (when the cables aren't cut).

I thought Carter had an Achilles issue? Is there something the All Blacks coaches need to know?
I think Dan Carter is the 1.0 model, Richard Kahui is the 2.0 model

I'm slightly appalled that no-one has mentioned the moral obligation to vote.
Voting is a big deal to me - it's a precious right of citizenship. I grew up knowing that it was one of the key things that made New Zealand different - women got the vote here first*. To this day many people around the world haven't been able to vote at all, or haven't had their votes counted fairly.
The fact Phil Goff and John Key legitimised people ignoring a chance to vote seemed abhorrent to me.
In New Zealand (unlike Iran) we have a great Electoral Administration where every vote counts, and is counted fairly (to the point of Judicial recounts if necessary). With MMP now every vote also actually counts, regardless of the electoral boundaries, and the same thing is true of CIRs - every vote actually counts in the final tally.
Yes, it's a CIR, not a general election, and the question is crappy and begs the question, but I think the least anyone can do is actually fill out their ballot paper.
Spoiled papers are counted (although what is written on them isn't recorded). I say either vote "Yes" (to counterbalance the "nos") or return a ballot saying "deliberately spoiled". Only the counter will read what's on it (and I think they're probably bound to secrecy).
I'm a believer in the mantras:
"Decisions are made by those who show up"
"If you don't vote, you're saying that either outcome is OK with you"
"If you don't vote, don't complain about the outcome."
"If you don't like the options, spoil your ballot, (or in a General Election, stand for election yourself)"Yes, it is only a CIR, but it's one of the few chances you get to show that you're a citizen and not a passive consumer.

DeepRed what is or was LA92?
UPDATE: That's it? You just tick a box swearing that you're 18? I love this dubdubdub web.
Until recently you need to use a credit card, for which you have to be 18 (or have very rich and trusting parents)
Often the billing/delivery address needs to match the credit card address too.

Looking at the list how about:
- open a bottle of wine using a corkscrew
Or given the "dismantle a gun" type things perhaps "open a beer bottle without an opener" would be more that line.
Maybe that's more for the list "25 things a gentleman should be able to do"
Thinking about alternate lists, there could also be:
25 things a woman should be able to do
25 things a lady should be able to do?
25 things a grown-up should be able to do? -
I recall it once being suggested that the difference between a boy and a man was:
1 - buys contraceptives without blushing.
2 - is not embarrassed by tampons (I remember seeing a guy from Burnham in army fatigues with tampons in his trolley (presumably for his wife) and thinking - he was totally a man, not a wimp).Maybe it's about confidence.
Perhaps theres another: is able to be patient and teach a 6 year old how to do something practical.

Edit: I should probably qualify that by saying that some players are picked on some amazing previous form. Ie: Smokin' Joe.
I read that and caught myself thinking: Smokin' Joe - he retired years ago.
Joe Stanley that is. When did Joe Rocks take over that nickname?

I stayed up last weekend to watch the Crusaders, couldn't get excited enough to watch the Chiefs. The Crusaders were looking pretty good yesterday morning!
I think the key thing in this match was the body-clock factor. It's just too hard to play games at 3am!
The South African teams have the advantage coming back this way that they're playing at 730/830am - which is at least a normal time to be awake.
