Thank christ you guys have gone off skirts.
I sit here in my kilt (Gunn tartan). The question for you all is:
What have I got on underneath? I wear it 25.4mm above the knee.

We have the 1st equal possie for a reason. We have some of the most un-influenced (bribe, cash, graft or favour) MPs, Judiciary, Police, Public Service and businesses in the world. We have that status for a reason.
I would argue that it is because we pay these people enough that it removes the incentive to take it under the table.
This is in general. There are always the odd one or two who are the exception and thankfully they have been found out and punished. That is the way it should be.
If $450k is the price to allow (any) MP to trip the world fantastic after their “service to their country” one might then argue it is a small price to pay for this standing in the World.
There may be grounds to enquire into the relevance or otherwise of the payments/subsidy/discount today. That is to be commended. But I would suggest some caution as to what the outcome should be to ensure that the status of NZs Corruption Perception remains as it is.
If you pay people in high places peanuts, you invite influence.

Maybe we should all read "The Naked Ape" again to remind us what we are and where we came from. It is quite illuminating to begin with the premise we are/were "animal" and we (humans) have developed tendencies to become "civilsed" rather than assume we are "civilised" and those who commit the darstardly crimes are "animals".

Maybe girls/women in short skirts look "attractive".
Magnets seem to be attractive as well. North and South, damagingly so.
Maybe we should use a different word for "what looks nice but don't get too close and don't - whatever you do - touch".

People who use (eg) Times New Roman in Power Point have to take the brunt of my dislike before, during and after their presentation!
I would have no problem with the posting window/column scrolling and all the PS info being left on the right hand side of the screen and NOT moving. Easier than having to scroll all the way up the page.
(……I can smell a keystroke shortcut to the top of the page coming…..}
Edit: Hmmm.....maybe not about the scrolling "special" window...I suddenly recalled issues with a page like that but I think it was because the window was not wide enough. -
