I know they aren't strictly documentaries, but I would love to be able to see some quality foreign current affairs. I'm thinking stuff like the ABC's Foreign Correspondent and 4 Corners, the Beeb's Panorama, and PBS's Frontline. Then I would be a very happy camper...
Heck if they run 4 Corners I'd have to get Sky, ridiculously over-priced as it is. Are you reading this Sky Execs?

The 'Nanny State' or 'over-protection' measures are aimed primarily at protecting (and protecting the rest of us from) 14-18 year olds, who seem to have, in a number of cases, absolutely no 'this is not a good idea' filters on their brains.
The bungee jumping, vodka producing, tractor-driving-to-the-South-Pole people are older, wiser, and not affected by these laws. Or are smart enough to bend them to their own ends.

A million years ago - well, 1994 - we were living in central Victoria (Australia). We could only get interwebby access by telnet to the CERN site on the work computers and it was text-only.
Sad expat Kiwi's that we were, we used to sneak back at night to read Brain Harmer's WYSIWYG news. A lifeline from home it was.
