Oliver's "The Wealth Gap Story" is great

Maybe we need some of this on our TV?
John Oliver's "Last Week Tonight"?
What the success of “Last Week Tonight” suggests, on a deeper level, is that American television viewers may finally be tired of the frantic bombast generated by the Stimulation Media.
What’s more, after years of making do with the therapeutic jibes of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, they are finding in Oliver a figure more interested in making sense of the world than in making them laugh.

Hard News: Dirty Politics, in reply to
I wonder what will happen to ipredict now that it has been shown up as just another tool for manipulation of the message?
I think it shows where $200 can change the odds so much that it suggests that few people actually bet on the bloody site. It has an “apparent” influence far beyond its value..
It shows that the MSM responds to an amazingly small number of people in this world. The one man NZ Assoc of Convenience stores, the bullshit of electoral selection by two people. And finally, two RW bloggers who have been shown to feed more bullshit to such an extent that the MSM consider any comment from them as major news.

Long-time Farrar-watchers will probably concur that that was Farrar in panic mode, trying really hard to appear nonchalant.
He needed a drink of water didn't he. Almost choking on his breath.........

A first run through finished at 11-15pm. Footnotes are a good read too!!
Crusher will be a wee bit concerned.
It was fascinating to read of the internal factions skulling it out in the selection processes. I fear I must be quite naive to think that this shit only happens on the left. Even more fascinated that the MSM have a field day ripping the left factions apart and manage to leave the right completely untouched.
I am no longer naive.
But the corporate shenanigans make frightful reading. Although when these groups made their views heard a few alarm bells did sound in the tiny brain. The small NZ assoc of convenience stores was a cracker! The anti breast feeders was shocking.
Henry tonight was right into the leak and forget about the message. TV1 jaw boner was into the fight likening Hagars tactics to be the same as what he was writing about!!
Farrar responding with Rule 1,2 and 3: Deny Deny Deny.
PM. (nay his spokesman) says: “Most people know that Nicky Hager is a screaming left-wing conspiracy theorist.”
So we watch this space…..
And oh...fancy that...Slater just happens to be "out of the country"......

Terms like slacktivism are bandied about mostly by people who are lazier than the supposedly lazy.
What does David Slack say to that buggering of his name? He has done most of his work at the keyboard too!
Oh shit. I shouldn't have used the word bugger. (see History).
And christ! I pity the first Maori Prime Minister if this is how we treat the white guys given what we see in the US of A from the birthers and their ilk.

I blame Shakespeare…
It got lost on people when meat began to be sold by the kilogram.

It's very sad, as much as I would very much like to comment on this he is now my boss. And it being election time we have been informed that we must be careful about what and where we comment. Bye for now.

W.T.F. Chemical Weapons Production Plant taken ?
Islamist militants in Iraq have occupied Saddam Hussein's former chemical weapons production facility, which contains a stockpile of old chemical weapon, the US government says.
So. "We" invaded. Why? Cos there were MWDs. "We" didn't find much. But it seems "we" might have missed the now found production plant.
Simple thought from a simple one: Why didn't "we" get rid of all the chemicals that might be able to be made into MWDs?
Ooooo...thats a hard one....
However, US officials told the Journal that had they known Iraq would become so destabilised after the 2011 pullout of US troop, they would not have left the stockpiles in place.
Analysts must have been from another planet.
