people defending Garret need to ask themselves "What do people do with fake passports?". Invariably its because they want to defraud social welfare or a bank, or because they figure that one day they might do something that necessitates fleeing the country. We've all (guys, mostly) gone thru that phase as young adults when we think we're badd-ass and wonder "how hard could it be to...?" but we don't actually do it.
(Disclaimer: in my case I dun a few tings, but I'm not seeking higher office) -
cheers for that ... maybe they can make a new generic 30"??
And since you're being helpful...
Can you find out (or perhaps you've already covered it?) why TVNZ decided to put TVNZ6 & TVNZ7 onto the Sky platform, without getting Sky to reciprocate by putting Prime on Freeview?
I understand the presure came from the Minister, but it seems it's another case of private companies running circles around govt bureaucracy. The govt made a significant investment in Freeview only to shoot itself in the foot by giving Sky it's unique programming without any quid pro quo.
And can you get it sorted by the weekend? I'd like to record the Dr Who special on Sunday. ~ cheers.

**sell Watercare**
I just really can't see how they could possibly spin that? Where would the benefit be in handing over a full monopoly of the most basic necessary to service to private owners? It wouldn't make water cheaper at all, and that's pretty much the only benefit privatisation can bring.Ah well, that would make us unique then, wouldn't it. Water companies the world over have been sold off and the result is always the same. Big profits for the privatised company via deferred maintenance and higher charges. It's for that reason (as much as I'm opposed to it) that I'll buy shares if they privatise. History shows it's money for jam.

Bridge marchers may face fines, charges
yeah, right.
police would be looking at video footage and officers' reports to identify law-breakers
Ah, well I'm alright then. The video evidence will clearly show that I spent the first 10 metres walking backwards with my hands upraised and calling out "Stop! Stop! this is illegal, I urge you to stop!". Sadly I was swept along by the mass and my efforts were hopeless. I refer you also m'lud to the archives of PAS where in 2008 I spoke out against the cycleway...

__Watercare is not privatised. It's owned by all the existing Auckland councils.__
Thanks. Got that wrong then.Cool, now can you answer the next question:
Why does Auckland City buy the water from Watercare at 'Wholesale' prices, and then mark it up to a 'retail' price before providing it to me? And under the new Supercity structure will I be able to 'buy' it from Waitakere if their price is cheaper?

All three participants were just mugged by Paul Henry ..... Cheap grandstanding at its worst.
I was struck by the same thought. He seemed to be having a go at each of them in the belief that that would endear him to 100% of the audience. I didn't expect him to support the Getacross guy but it seemed ridiculous to keep badgering him with "But what gave you the legal right?".
BTW - where did Henry get the idea that 10,000 motorists were stuck in traffic for half a day? Bollocks!

BTW I find this campaign tinged with irony, helmet or no helmet
Yes, he's riding in the wrong direction down a one-way street...

Live crosses are another bugbear of mine too. TVNZ once crossed live to a reporter at Auckland's Vaduct Harbour to tell us about some boating incident in (I think) Wellington.
TVNZ regularly cross live to a reporter who is standing out on the TVNZ balcony in Auckland. They try to vary the backdrop, but anyone who knows TVNZ's CBD location knows what's up. Ditto for TV3 who do the same (but less so) from their Symonds St location.
I often am bemused by the number of interviews conducted with news pundits/subjects that are clearly filmed in the TV3 outdoor carpark. I suppose it makes them look like they are 'out getting the stories' when in fact they've asked someone to come in to their newsroom.

Apropos of nothing, this is a good opportunity to bring up a bugbear of mine Russell. The TVNZ7 promo clip for Media7 features stills of the (proven) fake photos of Pauline Hansen naked, followed by Hansen at a press conference denying they were of her, followed by you and and some male panelists having a right old chuckle. It's not a good look, even worse with the sound off (you look like a bunch of guys leering at porn). Whilst we may all hate Hansen and her politics (me included) those photos were a low blow and I wonder if you'd still be running the same promo if the Politician were someone with whom you agreed with politically. At the very least the clip is dated, at the worst gratuitous.
No, you don't have to be gay to play
hence the common refrain: I'm not gay, I was drunk.
