Meanwhile in Sydney this week, two cyclists got fined AUD425 each for "trackstanding" (stopping without putting your foot down) at an intersection, the police have deployed the riot squad to fine cyclists, whilst there was a major accident on the harbour bridge during peak hour that was causing traffic chaos a couple of hundred metres away police resources were being utilised to enforce cyclists' helmet strap tightness, and the average driving time in peak hour on some roads is down to 10km/hr (via @icycleivote).
Priorities much?

Meanwhile, anyone who works in healthcare read the headline and paused to consider which abbreviation "MSM" was intended...

So your view of the game was looking at the backs of most of the ABs. In other words, pretty much the same view as the Wallabies had for most of the game.
If it's any consolation, living in Sydney but being from Christchurch, I happened to be home (for work) and extended my trip for the weekend, when the ABs played what is/was now their last test at Lancaster Park (vs Italy). My match ticket cost $60, I was about 10 rows back, 5m from half way. All up my whole weekend in Christchurch cost me ~$200 (accommodation, F&B, transport). Which is about what a similar ticket to watch the ABs play in Sydney costs.

How bored at work am I this afternoon? Well I'm trying to read the ESPN ticker on the Disco Demolition doco and work out which year it was played.

Funny isn't it how people will essentially complain "there's so much good stuff!" rather than "man, there are only TWO bands I want to see, the rest are crud, and I'll me sitting around for four hours between the two".
Meanwhile over in Southern Sudan, no such clashes...

By marriage I am related to a World Cup-winning Wallabies captain. He might have done one or two other noteworthy and honorable things with his life before and since. But I still remember walking in to his personal study, and there is only one photo in the room: of him and his son, the day they met Nelson Mandela.

Keep it safe, so that your great-great-grandchildren can boast to their friends "AND IT WAS TAKEN WITH SOMETHING CALLED AN 'iPHONE'!"

I was lucky enough to be at the second test at Headingley last month. We were pretty much in the thick of it (i.e. ground zero - the head of the verboten beer snake - started in the seats right in front of us). In the six of seven hours we were there I don't remember one single swear word or "offensive" remark, but the commentary-from-the-cheap-seats ran all day. And it was bloody funny, and bloody good fun.
But is seems such a shame then that with zero offensive insults and homophobic slurs we were somehow missing out on "part of the game".
