trump like.
The millionaire with the common touch, lowering taxes and dismantling legislation for rich buddies, talking crap when asked a straight question, attack politics, been there done that with John Key.

Had to check those stats Russell and came up with interesting and saddening theories. Indigenous Americans are more highly represented in suicide rates of 23 per 100,000 compared to white men (how is white defined in a country of immigrants from all over the world?) at 18 per 100,000. Black American suicide rates of 6 per 100,000 thousand seem light until digging down into ideas of misclassification, behaviours created by poverty and predjudice and cultural conditioning causing extreme risk and violent behaviour resulting in death.

But I think he has a point about big marijuana, everything in this country has been moving away from small, local and sustainable for donkeys years. I think it's going to be a bloody battle to see who controls the pot. There are rich people already setting up shop and selling shares in the shop, on the legislative gamble that they can hold the license to dispense.

Mellisa Harrison writing in the Guardian on fascism (virtue signaling in a PC rag?)
"..how fascism works, which is not through a coherent belief system but rather as a parasite on other forms of thinking, on fears."

Hard News: On joining the international…, in reply to
I don't think this is a dangerous precedent, if this is politics it's weaponised and the weapons are in the hands of monkeys. This is a reaction against bigotry not politics. It's worth noting that it wasn't just 'city hall' that said fuck this; it was the free market too. It restores my faith in human nature.

How do people here envisage the New Zealand of the future with different legislation around the use of cannabis? Particularly if we arrive at legalisation, government controll and excise tax.

The torching of the WTO is a consequence of Trumps tariffs on, primarily, Chinese manufactured imports to America. Stacking the appeal court is a method to quash legal action to lift the tariffs. Ultimately the policy is as isolationist as the wall building stunt. When that project is complete I think the explosions will occur within the, currently, United States.

Hard News: The miserable archive, in reply to
God that's brutal, it outlines social engineering toward a class system which is not the old NZ way. Who's culture have we imported ,and why hasn't MPI stopped it at the border?

I wonder how many people in Epsom have rental property portfolios, that charge 'market rents', that result in poverty, mental illness and the need for state intervention in the property market.
