Hard News: Budget 2018: The final tick, in reply to
And imagine for a moment if Ardern DID behave like that. No "blokey banter" free pass for her ... she'd be "shrill". "Hysterical", even.
As it turns out the shrill hysterical one was Nationals Bridge burner.

Cheers (heh) for that Russell.
It's really not an easy job for journalists covering an election.
The rest of us get so caught up in either our own lil ranty land rage or flee to planet denial of electoral existence, that we mostly don't notice just how much work the journos have to put in.
The blog has had me reflect on that and go offer beers to a Political journo that visits my shop occasionally, she's a fellow craft beer fiend so should appreciate it. -
Hard News: With regard to place, in reply to
Impossible?
Never underestimate the power of "Teh stupids" to give it a try. ;-) -
The "feathers" detail I would suspect is a "this'll stop the buggers climbing up here" feature.... that or a variant on the anti bird installations you see all over the show in Wellington CBD.

"Don't go Full Nixon on staffers, stonewall Police investigations, monster complainants into going away and keeping quiet, then lie your arse off about all of it"
Sounds like standard tobacco company procedure TBH?

So why is Barclay hanging in, potentially raining down more damage on his party and leader? Why is [he] being allowed to remain?
I don't know, but I'm just going to nip down the supermarket and get more popcorn..... This looks like it's going to get quite entertaining! :-D

Hard News: Barclay and arrogance, in reply to
They don't take well to being thoroughly scooped by their ex-editor.
Hell hath no snark like a newspaper scorned.

Hahaha!
So that was you I was pouring all that Superafro for (I set up and worked at the Funk Estate bar) , incredibly popular beer again this year.
Finn was great to serve although a lil frazzled by the end….. Very cunning plan to get a personal drinks fetcher. I can see that idea taking off next year. -
Hard News: A cog in the Mediaworks machine, in reply to
Update: The account is unlocked again, with the explanation that they’re trying to get rid of fake followers.
Am I alone in taking that as a "purging all who dare take issue with anything I say" response?
“Small but perfectly formed” used to be a favourite phrase of Metro founder Warwick Roger, both in and out of his Felicity Ferret frock.
Also a heavily used phrase under the tenure of Mr Ralston who I see is a fave of snout.

The Ramen burger over in Newtown was spectacular.... I really wish they would put it on the permanent menu.
The Paua burger at spruce goose was "ok" massive amount of Paua in the pattie.... Like 97% paua with only just enough other stuff in it to hold it together nothing more.
