God it was like watching Frankenstein's monster being revived sat night, with that incoherent TINA rant from Douglas. Honestly who the hell found the defibrillator, and with the likes of John Lennon more than ever needing bringing back they go and get that zombie out.
It was the most terrifying moment of the whole night.
I will be watching crime levels this term. After all S Power said Labour had 9 years to "stamp out crime", this should be good, hear that folks crime just needs to be stamped out, this could be nirvana.

Also just checked out the Esquires site, nice at least one hr is free per coffee. I figure I could eek out at least a morning at Esquires. The next question, how's the coffee.
So here's a challenge, how's your mash-ups? Anyone wanna collaborate in a site with maps of free wi-fi in the country. Nothing like encouraging competition.
Before you know it we'll be like Vancouver (except much better coffee).

Man do I pine for the free wif-fi with coffee. I mean a computer is just a dumb too without it's connection to the world these days. How else am I going to win an argument without wiki on call.

I remember Netscape (or something) back at Vic in 1994. How boring was Playboy.com without the pics (couldn't load images frokm any site) and everything in black and white.

sorry to go back to the start. In my quest to have everything hypermediated, life just wouldn't be the same without wikipedia.
I'm not talking about the silly politics, there's more to life than just that crap.
I mean imagine if the good old AA map of Breat Britian I picked up for $3 was hypermediated. How cool would it be if you taped on a point on the map and you had access to wiki, flickr pools, del.icio.us for that place. Web 2.0 is imperfect but it's a start and bloody slight more interesting than politics.

Simon, my experience of the UK, it was better last time I was there in 2002 than 2008. Seriously broadband is yet to be invented in London, but that was only one experience.
I mean it's a joke to walk into a cafe here and pay to telecom. Starbucks in Vancouver charged and there were next to no laptops open. Waves with free 24 wi-fi and not bad coffee was jam packed even at 11pm Sunday nights (could they all be listening to radio sports super 14 coverage?)

If the NZ blogosphere wasn't a shit fight I'd love to see that really fizzing this election. Where are the information designers and the web geeks collaborations, and what better time than an election to do it.
Having spent the last 6months in Vancouver, the biggest thing I am missing is walking into more or less any half decent cafe and you could sit down to free wi-fi. Now I don't know what it's like in the rest of the country, but the free wi-fi cafes in Dunners are seemingly non existant. It was the best thing to be actually having a coffee and doing the fun things like having a dig at kiwiblog from the other side of the world. Or the coolest was sitting in a 24hr free wif-fi cafe (big ups Waves Cafe) and listening to the Super 14 at midnight sunday/monday. I asked a few cafe owners over there and for them it's no expense, if the customer is getting a coffee every now and then they're fine if you sat there all day - which being without an office over there I did from time to time. free wi-fi in Cafes please. As the self titled coffee culture capital of the world, I thought there would have been enough competition in NZ cafes to see someone offer free wi-fi. Telecom hotspot is not free wif-fi.
Vancouver broadband = 2.5-3.5X faster at only about 20% extra coast with 50Gb+ plans (and free computer to new customers!).
Craigslist NZ bigtime. Why do we pay for trademe when I sold our entire house lot of furniture the night before we left Vancouver over craigslist, the best thing since...
I'd love to see Public Address and Idealog get together, dont ask how or why. Organise a conference guys, I'd be there.

Lame lame lame excuse. How does she account for me wandering down to one of the priciest streets in Vancouver to find more or less any CD 1/3rd the price of NZ (and not just the new releases).
The majority of RG stores I know aren't situated on the most expensive pieces of real estate in NZ, they hide. Can anyone really stumble across the CHCH or Dunners real groovy stores? Is this anti marketing, or is it just cool to hide from your customers?
Someone (to quote Ferris Bueller), Anyone? why do we pay double if not more than many many places for Cd. I mean how many CDs at $36 each do they think we are going to buy? It's almost worth the air ticket to Vancouver to buy music (notice the protruding tongue in cheek).

Oh well it's all inspired me to spend all of $40 and go and buy about 4-5 rand spanking new CDs.
The only ones that are expensive here are those bought in from the UK.
