'Cast Stone' is my favourite. The epic closer to Melt.
Hearing it at the Big Day Out '93 was huge in that stadium.
Awesome closer to the Straitjackets' best album. -
At a time when we've just apologised to Maori for not including them in South Africa tours in the past, is it right that we have a Maori-only team?
Does it serve any purpose that the All Blacks don't? -
Make sure you post the details of where at the Basin we will meet, for those of us who don't know what you look like.
Cheers!

Why was Wellington not in black and yellow?

People talking while the band plays.
Argh, that has spoilt so many gigs - Belle & Sebastian at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Simon and Garfunkel at Vector Arena, many at San Francisco Bath House in Wellington ...
And bloody well start earlier, bands in NZ!
Went to see the Brunettes last week and they started at 12.30am. Was struggling to stay awake by the end.
Headliners should be starting before 9.30pm, gig finished by around 11, home in time for a decent night's sleep before getting up for work.
On the plus side, I love going to gigs!
Weirdest gig:
Arthur Lee & Love, Benicassim, Spain. He'd just been told that Rick James had died. The man obviously did not want to play a show at that time ...Best:
Lucky Soul in London.Or any gig where you get blown away by a new band you've never heard before.
With a band you know you often end up subconsciously comparing it to the record. -
The 'built-in low scoring' makes it that more exciting when the team scores; hence the crowd going apesh*t!
Other sports like rugby or tennis get points all the time, so there's no need to get excited until you know the final result.
What I'm trying to say is, you have to appreciate it for what it is - not be disappointed because soccer's not like any other particular sport.

That was amazing. Wildest dreams and all that.
So pleased to have been in the crowd, on the night, in the whiteout.
I saw a certain All Whites player doing a Flintoff in a Courtenay Place bar on the Sunday afternoon!

Craig Ranapia, must you really write so many posts that make me go "eew".
There are other metaphors than sexual ones.

Sunday's Phoenix game was the worst I have seen them play (at least since the last worst time!)
Normally it's much more exciting than that. When I'm watching, I want to see goals.
The outpouring of emotion when your team scores is amazing.
Cricket only gets that exciting at the end of a game, and rugby never gets that exciting. -
Sounds like a good idea to me; gigs that are over by 11pm would mean you could get home at a reasonable hour in time for work the next day.
