Lucky you, and everyone who missed this show, then: Radio NZ's Andre Upston was at that Auckland show and recorded it for broadcast, I imagine it'll be archived online for at least a short time...
Andre's live recordings are excellent. I certainly hope something good can be done with it, because it was a fantastic evening.
I caught Shayno on Saturday at the KA and didn't disagree when one of my English immigrant football team-mates declared him (in an excellently stunned fashion) "a genius". On ya SPC.
Indeed. But you were there too? I can't believe how many people I know who I didn't see in that very full room.

I was up the back Russell. Spotted you in passing... back of your head, later on, was busy catching up with so many ex-Dunedin people... good times.
So you've heard what Andre captured? Hope it comes out, his Fits recordings from Sammy's back in 05, and the Verlaines live that same night I think it was... excellent.

No, just his past work.

Sure was full. Bit of an 80s bFM convention too, which was fun.
Took a few photos. Lighting was challenging, but after being squashed in the back for three songs, I ventured outside and found myself standing side of stage with some thoroughly nice people, getting lost in the music.

Nice work, sir. Love your earlier David Kilgour & Jon Toogood one too.

Thanks Sacha. Felt like a nerd taking it, but not an opportunity I was going to let go. My only regret is Shayne Carter, who was there too, didn't sit down with them.

I bought something called a DoubleHappy on a recent visit to Tauranga. It was an over-sized sausage roll, with a topping of mashed potato. Somehow appropriate for Tauranga--sort of reminded me of Winston. Indigestible!

Did it blow up???

Shame I couldn't make it to the show on Saturday, but my ears hadn't recovered from Kyuss the night before. And that was with earplugs!

This sounds good too. More Shihad-y than other one.

Good show, eh? I took my earplugs out at one point, and was shocked at the sheer volume. Must be getting old...
