NZ's made a habit of beating Austraila in the last few years (In the five or six years of the Chappel/Hadlee we've now -- I think -- won more matches than they have!).
All on for Saturday at in Akl. Styris is firing; Guptill won't fail, I expect. We could very well beat them again.
Those commentators sure like saying "Dougie", but who doesn't, I suppose.

Do the tracks always go one way? I'd hope they rotate.
Speed skating is an anti-clockwise sport (as is running and cycling I note, I wonder if there's a reason for that).
Normal ice skates are cut both ways, so they have two edges, one on each side. Speed skates have only one sharp edge, they'd tend to fall over a lot more going clockwise.
New Zealand has a community of curlers, I've been led to believe on the basis of Mainland cheese ads. I'd like to give it a try!
Curling is great fun - particularly after a wee dram and with a silly hat on your head. It's got a whole culture to it, and once you get into the yelling ("HARD!!!) and the sweeping it's a fun night out. It's good down here - Dunedin and Naseby both have dedicated curling rinks. There's curling in Auckland, not sure about Chch.

Reeeaaalllyyy late to the conversation. Speed skates do have 2 edges, but they are thinner than hockey or figure skates. They are also a 'flat grind' ie they don't have a concave between the 2 edges like hockey or figure. Speed skates are set up to only go one way, especially in short track with the sharper corners. The blades are offset to the left of the boot so the boot doesn't touch the ice on the corners and they are also curved (bent) to to the left to help cornering.
