Light in the undergrowth. Happy New Year.

Tikorangi The Jury Garden, Taranaki | 23/12/2012

That's a place I'd love to visit. Have got to know the owner through Twitter, strangely, and I think she may have posted on here once or twice. Lovely people, by all accounts.

Yes, life long friends and my second home. The garden photo and 'idyllic' gateway near the McKee facility responses to Abbie's Christmas 2012 Tikorangi PetroChem tour. Tikorangi The Jury Garden is a tad over 1600 metres beyond the pylon to the right. We are looking east. There is another roughly 1500 metres south of the garden - with more to come.

  • BenWilson,

Stuffed up which thread I put this on. It should have been here, being summery.

On a somewhat sweeter note, I had my first swim of the summer at Cheltenham Beach today - it seemed that everyone in Auckland was at some beach or other today. I enjoyed it immensely - being with friends, picnicking under a huge old Pohutukawa, but the best thing of all was this. This is my special friend Pete who belongs to my friend Rebecca. He held my hand all through lunch, of his own volition. I was touched beyond words. Having said that, he is a very charming three year old. "Welcome to my home!" he once magnanimously said to me, when I arrived at theirs. Bless his little heart.

This guy was making the most of the wind yesterday. Ripped past the car ferry I was on, did a one-handed-gybe around the 5 knot zone sign and tore past us at what looks like about 3 times that speed.

No worries Ben. I enjoyed seeing them over there too.

Kind of wishing I could upload from my phone. Magic day at Whangaparaoa again.

    Happy daze.

Thanks guys for your congrats, & hope you all had fab Christmas and New Year. Have just been breakfasting on your photos - so much to see. Beautiful stuff, as varied and stunning as I'd expect from the Kapture Krew. Here's a few from my hols. First up, Duck-mas - Christmas visitors. Then Mexican wrestling on the trampoline (unfortunately the Transformer had leapt off at that stage). And a Boxing Day icecreamathon.

Oneroa panorama. Hi def, so zoom for detail, there's a surprising amount. Can even see Great Barrier, a good 70km away. Is that glint on Whangaparoa Jackson's camera?

    Great captures everyone.

Is that glint on Whangaparoa Jackson’s camera?

Maybe. Or even the screen of my iPhone. All these off that so far. More to come when I get nearer the cable for the camera...

What an amazing experience Geoff. Look forward to hearing her impressions and stories of life in Japan, having spent my own formative year there, although at a later stage in life.
