Access: Is the tide turning for disabled floater voters – or are we becalmed?

Thank you DPA for this series. I had intended to write something disability/election related but am suffering from fuzzy brain from election-itis which means I can't concentrate long enough to finish anything. Instead a lot of time is wasted on arguments in social media.
There are two policies I am hoping will become reality:
1) An inquiry into historic abuse in state care (the starting of which is now in Jacinda's 100 day plan)
2) An Aged Care Commissioner to highlight abuse and all the other issues in older disabled people (Labour/Green policy) -
This might be an appropriate place to share these….
The first is pretty much what you’d expect…and if y’all don’t know how National rates disability issues then you’ve been living in a cave for the past nine years.
Labour has made a real effort…and I’m beginning to regret having done two ticks green the other day as…
the Green’s disability policy page has a very unfriendly ACCESS DENIED message.
The only policy document by the Greens specifically relating to disability is from 2012.
Decades now of so called advocacy groups taking the government coin and thereby being obliged to sing their paymaster’s tune has made the lives of many disabled Kiwis harder and less secure than twenty years ago.

Probably moved the page in an election policy re-design - try this one;

Being an obsessive compulsive more information seeker I followed the "Read the full policy here" link and got Mojo's 2012 document.
I know they're busy and all...but considering there has been outstanding work done by a couple of Green MPs on disability issues I expected better.
Having said that, I think both have been moved down the list....

Yes, I noticed that too!

I saw ACT's policy yesterday on a facebook group i'm in and suddenly the post has disappeared. It seemed very token gesture, I'm wondering if it's disappeared due to the negative comments it received.

My Voice Matters has been busy endeavouring to provide comprehensive, non-partisan information for all disabled people and our allies, on enrolment, voting, and the policies of parties seeking our vote.
Building on the voter awareness educational workshops and candidate forums we’ve been running since 2013, we have been growing our social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.
We have just released our policy scorecard, which may be of interest.
Some of the source material is here for people with the time and inclination. :-)

Took me a moment to realise that the final row is a key, rather than the average for the first 3 columns.

Kia ora. Closing this thread now to ensure we meet the provisions of the Electoral Act. May open again after 7pm tomorrow.
